About Whoa Dog Apparel

Growing up around my grandfather who was an avid bird and rabbit hunter, I was always around hunting dogs. I loved staying in Kentucky with my grandparents. My grandfather would tell me stories of bird hunting days in Iowa. Every Sunday the table was filled with quail and pheasant he had shot the previous year. It was from these early experiences I learned how to handle rabbit and bird dogs. 8 years ago I bought a weimaraner for my family. It didn't take long after bringing this 8 week old puppy home and seeing him go on point time after time, to know that this dog had potential.

So with the help of Billy and Deb Darby of Whitetail Kennel I began training Bogie. This lead to my obession with bird hunting and making this dog the best he could be. So there I was raising quail, building flight pens, and hitting every hunt test and field trial I could get to. Along the way I became the official "bird boy" of the Palmetto Pointing Breed Club (this is an honor-- you get to ride the four wheeler all day and eat Chevis's cooking). This also lead me to becoming an AKC hunt test judge.

Bogie went on to get his Senior Hunting title and becoming "V" rated through the Weimaraner Club of America. The vision of WhoaDog came about from all these experiences. After nearly two years of thought and drawings WhoaDog was whelped. The idea behind WhoaDog is to give bird hunters a common logo whether you are in the pine groves of South Georgia with your pointer, or in the Dakota's with your lab everyone has WhoaDog to represent the sport of upland bird hunting.
